ow to Reference Option 2 – Watermark Method in SketchUp<br />The Watermark Method in SketchUp allows you to overlay an image (like a reference sketch or logo) as a background or foreground watermark to assist in modeling. Here’s how to use this method:<br />Step 1: Import the Watermark Image<br />Go to Window Styles to open the Styles Panel.<br />Click on the Edit Tab (second icon).<br />Locate the Background Settings (it looks like a sky and ground).<br />Click on the Watermark Button (small image icon).<br />Step 2: Add and Position the Watermark<br />Click Add Watermark and select the image you want to use.<br />In the Watermark Settings Window, choose:<br />Foreground (if you want the image to overlay the model).<br />Background (if you want the image behind the model).<br />Adjust the Opacity and Size to control visibility.<br />Click Next, then Finish to apply.<br />Step 3: Use the Watermark as a Reference<br />If using a Foreground Watermark, you can trace over it with the Line (L) or Rectangle (R) tool.<br />If using a Background Watermark, align your model by adjusting the camera view.<br />Adjust transparency anytime in Window Styles Edit Watermark.<br />Step 4: Save or Export with the Watermark<br />Go to File Export 2D Graphic to keep the watermark in a final image.<br />For editing, go back to Styles Panel and disable or adjust the watermark.<br />Final Tips:<br />✅ Use low-opacity watermarks for better visibility while modeling.<br />✅ Combine this method with Match Photo for more precise modeling.<br />✅ Hide the watermark when you no longer need it (Styles Edit Uncheck Watermark).
